The sound of the project is best described as downtempo ambient electronics mixed with ethnic world musics in the vein of "Karma" era Delerium, Amethystium, and Dead Can Dance. Its really a very intoxicatingly beautiful creation and I highly recommend it to anyone into ambient music styles.
About the Album & Artist:
Brooding, ambient, experimentation, improvisation, filled with emotion… These are some of the words that describe the sound of Evan Marc (aka Bluetech). A classically trained pianist and master of the art of software production, Evan’s love of the melodic and exquisite sense of sound design makes him one of the most ingenious producers today.

Evan achieved international recognition and success with his downtempo / chill-out project, Bluetech, making waves in the chill-out world with his unique sound and top-notch production quality. He released three full length albums on Aleph Zero Records and Waveform Records, as well as starting his own imprint, Native State Records, and touring internationally. A need to expand his sound led him to explore his love for tech-house resulting in his latest album, “Emotional Ecology.”

On “Emotional Ecology,” Evan delves into the deeper side of tech-house, presenting a melodic and dub influenced album with a focus on dance floor usability and emotional development.

"I really wanted to make an album which brought a sense of the sacred to the dance floor,” Evan says of the album. “I've always loved the sense of play that people feel when they release themselves to the moment in dance. It's light hearted, healing, and holy all at the same time. This album was written for people who dance. It was written to make a safe space for people to let themselves go and experience magic through movement."

The album is already receiving support and play from influential DJs, labels, and artists spanning a variety of electronic music genres including Gordon Field (Interchill Records), Gio (Dakini Records / Makyo), Taho (Lumina Records), System 7, and more. Evan’s signature touch on the tech-house sound is sure to make “Emotional Ecology” a stand out release in the genre and a sought after release for collectors who know premium quality electronic music.

PsyBooty Records is proud to present yet another ground breaking, genre bending masterpiece by Evan Marc.

Reviews:
“One of the worlds leading purveyors of IDM brings his talents to the world of tech house, with his classic melodies and soaring dub beats, Evan Marc drops an intelligent, deep and beautiful album for the dance floor.” – Michael Hodgson (Pitch Black, Dubmission Records)

"Evan's sound is as always, unique and inspiring. Its dance music you can chill to. Un-offensive, but still bumping - right where my heart is headed these days!” – Simon Baring (Twisted Records)

"Once again Evan reveals his depth and versatility as one of the most innovative musician/producers around. Emotional Ecology is a brilliant cross-over travelogue that's sure to rock clubs and trance floors world wide." – Naasko (Label Manager, Interchill Records)

“Wonderful rich deep housey grooves, imbued with Evan’s distinctive sonic signature that we so appreciate on his Bluetech releases. We’ve been playing this a lot and it’s really one of our favorites at the moment.” – Steve Hillage & Miquette Giraudy (System 7)

"Solid leading edge debut album from Evan Marc – highly recommended” – Andrew Ross Collins (Interchill Records, Macro Records, Mariko Music Publishing)

Pro-Tibetan protests have occurred in record numbers across the world showing the Chinese Authority that they may be able to kill and suppress inside Tibet, but the people of the world are speaking ... Protesters in Boston, Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary, Ottawa, Germany, Italy, Mysore, New Delhi, Chennai, Buffalo, Chile, Vienna, Israel, Denmark, Lithuania, Norway, Chicago, Bangkok, Seoul, New York, Sydney, London, San Francisco, Minnesota, Barcelona, Munich, Belgium, Taiwan, Paris, and even a vigil was held in Beijing. Unprecedented numbers of peace marchers, hunger strikes, vigils and protests in front of Chinese Embassies worldwide is surely not what the Communist Chinese Government had intended when they made the decision to 'crackdown' on Tibetans. One report even states that Tibetan protesters were gunned down in broad daylight in the streets of Lhasa. The Israeli parliament held a discussion about "the Genocide in Tibet".

Maybe the world is asking China to have compassion if they want to have their 'precious' Olympic Games if you read in between the lines. Several top athletes have already threatened to boycott the games and Beijing can't even promise clean air for them! I hope for a quick end to the utter stupidity and arrogance of the Chinese Authority in regards to the complete brutalization of any sense of the term 'human rights' amidst this 'crackdown' on autonomy ...

Loki says of himself...

After spending several magical years in the industrial rave scene (warehouse spaceships) in Pittsburgh, PA during the middle to late 90's and after promoting about 20 raves during that same incredible mystical time period, I began my expedition as a dj. Actually, it wasn't that glorious, it happened by accident. A friend of mine left on vacation for a few weeks and asked if I would do him a favor and babysit his gear. I promptly agreed and his turntables and mixer sat in my basement for 2 days before I even touched them. I then decided I was going to "play" with them, so I went to a "new" little record store in Pittsburgh called Milk and bought my first tracks on vinyl. I went looking for some deep house and walked out with an arm full of Danny Tenaglia style tribal. After about 48 hours of nonstop trainwrecking I decided it was time to eat and get some sleep. I was straight up hooked on the vinyl crack.

Now seven years later, I am back to my east coast roots spinning melodic, chunky, dirty, minimal techno. I would not dare deny my west coast family a style that suits their tastes as well, so look out for new dubstep mixes with special mc work by Pete Clark. I want to thank anyone who ever danced while I played, you will never know how precious those moments are to me and I look forward to enjoying many more moments where we all meet on higher plane and the world slips away.

You can expect to hear new songs produced by psyRen for years and years to come. Some of the things that have influenced him include: yoga, eastern philosophy, Robert Anton Wilson, Shpongle, Autechre, oCeLoT, the Nommos, the fact that everything you hear are vibrations of energy traveling through a medium and the fact that everything you see is light projected into your brain.

He travels frequently to other cities and sometimes other countries in his work of awakening consciousness with his powerful music.

COMMONALITY AMONGST THE WORLD'S MYSTICS:

If you study the life of past mystics you'll find they share several things in common:

First, they all speak of an induction – or of a need to learn/realize a new level of understanding. They all speak of a fundamental shift in consciousness (be it called awakening, realization, divination, or being born again).

Second they all tell of making a journey into and through a despair process of being “undone” as the precursor to this fundamental shift in consciousness -- be it through experiencing 40 days and nights in the wilderness, starving under the boddhi tree, facing the dark night of the soul, or the hero’s journey. There is a Journey of metamorphosis that all mystics have undergone in some way.

Third, it is an inner journey that must be taken up and navigated alone. This is a hallmark of the mystic’s realization: The reason the journey must be alone is because that which must be faced, seen, and surrendered in order that something new can emerge, is only possible through sustaining the fear and despair process of being alone and meeting the ultimate and fundamental fear of “non-being” and annihilation.

Fourth, they all seem to realize the frustration of being misunderstood by those who have not yet been through the awakening journey -- “those who have ears to hear, let him hear.” A great deal of the mystical writings are devoted almost exclusively to the fact that fundamental spiritual truth cannot be understood by the intellect nor correctly put into words. Forever, the great spiritual teachers have tried through the insufficiency of words to point toward that which can ever and only be experienced and known on a level that is before and beyond the mind. This is something unfathomable to those who have not yet had this breakthrough revelation - and particularly so in our contemporary culture that has become so overly reliant and blinded by the limiting paradigm of the scientific method that forever reduces our understanding of intelligence to that which is sensory, measurable and linear in nature. (...Life isn't (only or always) linear .. In fact it rarely is, except in man-made constructions and habituated uses of the mind.)

This gathering bridges national, cultural, generational and social barriers to ignite excitement about what is new on the horizon in space exploration and to remind us of the magnificent feats humanity is capable of.

Yuri's Night Bay Area will be held at Moffett Field in the NASA Ames Research Center's massive SOFIA hangar, home to the world's largest aerial observatory. Our host for the evening is pioneering space traveler Anousheh Anasari, the first privately funded female to reach orbit. She is joined by Dr. Chris McKay, world renowned expert in astrobiology and terraformation with the Space Science Division of NASA Ames Research Center, as they welcome you to a dazzling array of interactive art installations and science demos, interwoven with musical and acrobatic performances by some of the world's finest entertainers.

Excited beyond end
about this new sound scape from Noah Pred
aka Shen (www.shenism.com)

from rich atmospheric dub and honeyed chillout
to psy-dm and symbient
this microwashed polyproduction
is a clear spirit into a deeper future of
the downtempo music

this is truly
magic infused music

here is the celestial detailing :

Taken from the arcane Taoist term for 'refined energy' or 'depth',
Shen is Noah Pred's outlet for low-tempo explorations of
forward-thinking computer music. Drawing inspiration from geomancy
and botanical architecture, Shen dives deep into forward-thinking
electronic dub and downtempo. His music takes advantage of
cutting-edge digital technologies while retaining an analog warmth
and character through exquisite chords, textures, and atmospheres.

Aleph Zero is proud to present... A New Omnimotion Album!!!

After four years of recording, producing and composing new music in his Ambium Studio based in Stockholm, Sweden, Omnimotion is finally back with a second album. Utilizing inspirations and knowledge he picked up along his very diverse musical path, Stefan has created Dream Wide Awake. The album contains the best musical gems that were carefully chosen from the music that accumulated in this four year period. It is a beautifully mellow yet optimistic album, with a strong acoustic presence. Dream Wide Awake is an incredibly diverse album. It features eight different vocalists- from a rapper to an opera singer- and many guest musicians with an array of instruments including the violin, accordion, guitar, drums, harp & flute. The outcome hovers between the electronic and the acoustic, the hypnotic and the melodic, between abstract ambient and mellow songs, between dubby songs and IDM glitches. Omnimotion weaves and paints here an emotional musical journey that must not be missed and will leave you dreaming wide awake.

Dear Bluetech Tribe:

I just joined this tribe and I wanted to tell you a bit about myself and a vision that's currently forming within me.

My name is Shalom and I'm a photographer - I'm also a passionate lover of the kind of conscious, expansive electronica that Bluetech creates as well as the other masters of shamanic soundforms: Shulman, Entheogenic, Shpongle, Shakatura, and my friend David Battenfield.

I have a vision of creating a music mix that awakens the listener into a felt experience of the One. I've put together a few mixes of expansion-catalyzing music, which I've shared with friends at lucid music appreciation gatherings (to which each of us brings a mix). [There are six or seven of us – we gather, become illuminated, and share our mixes with each other, which we listen to in total silence. We've done this a number of times, and it's been a glorious experience every time.] This time, I'm thinking about taking my music appreciation mix to the next level by contacting the artists who I’d like to include in the mix, and asking for their permission to assemble their songs into a compilation that I would seek to have distributed by a label.

I want to do this in a way that truly benefits everyone involved in the process - musicians, producer, label, and listeners. I have some close friends who are established musicians with CDs on the market, so I'm taking my cues from them about how to develop this project.

One thing is clear: the intention of this mix is to combine onto a single CD sounds that awaken the heart and mind to an immediate felt experience of the One. Today’s urban-techno-shamanistic revival (expressed through the heart of the Burning Man culture, through the new Entheogenesis film, through our conscious dance and movement culture, through awakened spiritual practice) is a vital driver of what I feel is a global awakening that's happening now. I see groups such as Entheogenic, Shulman, Shpongle, Bluetech, and company to be supplying fuel for this evolution. I believe that the universe is ripe for this evolution, and for the active participation of those who are deeply committed to it. One of the ways that I, personally, see to participate in this is to assemble shamanic soundforms across an array of artists into a single CD that functions as a carrier wave for this evolving consciousness.

A big ambition, I know.

I believe that it's not only possible, but vital and necessary. The world thirsts for light, for union, for celebration of the One. This is my mission.

And so, I send this message out to the Bluetech tribe, trusting that in the rampant perfection of things, it will reach exactly the hearts and minds it needs to reach.

One,
Shalom

PS - Here's a link to my photography website: http://shalomormsby.com/ [It's my commercial work. I have some new fine art pieces in progress that aren't there yet, but will be soon.]

“And the beat goes om” is a work of strong catchy basslines, crisp compressed beats and colourful cyber-squelch! Its mix of styles and influences pays tribute a wide angle slice of musical genres that have been aired, on the groovy side of mid-tempo, over the last few years. In this, his debut album, Jonathan Smith (the Slack Baba himself) introduces the un-initiated to his version of events… a melting pot of fluid grooves and swirling psychedelic melodies, a touch of the ethnic and some very respectable bass frequency action…

As one of a new generation of British psychedelic artists, Jonathan’s individual style has produced some memorable live sets; turning down tempo audiences into full tribal stompers at last years Glade and Glastonbury festivals and delivering his cross-boundary hybrid grooves with impunity. His music draws the listener through a labyrinth of pulsing rhythms and mind-bending sonic states, demonstrating his skills in sound manipulation and delivering a new take on psychedelic electronica.

Expect to hear a lot of this album this summer and a lot more from ‘Slack Baba’ in the future. This is a strong debut album that will not only further confirm Jonathan as one of Liquid Records ‘groovers and shakers’, but should also establish his place in the CD cases of DJ’s and punters alike both in the UK and internationally.

REVIEWS…

“Liquid Records' downtempo department has been busy over the past year cooking up some of the frostiest grooves, and Slackbaba's latest release, "And The Beat Goes Om", is undoubtedly one of the plumpest fruits of their labor. Serving up a healthy slice of dubtempo with roots and branches drawing from, and extending into, a myriad of musical directions, Slackbaba's beats are as abstract as a Picasso piece seen through a kaleidoscope, and the production quality is top-notch as well. Don't think you'll be sleeping through this one... this album spans the spectrum of speeds and there is a veritable traffic jam of colliding sounds coming at you from every which way... this music is that busy! “
Axis Mundi – Mushroom Magazine

"There's nothing slack about this baba, his beats slap straight to the om, with a nice touch of dubs, breaks, and smooth electronic sound manipulations to keep your synapses stimulated as the journey unfolds." Chris Organic - Organic Records

"The best thing we have heard in ages, all our friends are raving about it" Steve and Miquette - System 7/Mirror System 7
Release Date: December 5th, 2005

Aleph Zero is excited and proud to present the second highly anticipated Bluetech album. Sines and Singularities offers a step forward in Bluetech's unmistakable and distinct emotional spacey sound, and shows an evolved Bluetech character. Extensive touring since his last album led Evan in explorations of new realms of sonic structures. The outcome of these physical journeys is a spiritual musical inward deep dive that unfolds and penetrates new dimensions in Bluetech musical persona, exposing more of his unique sound-constructed emotional reflections of the world. Diverse and colorful, this amazing album offers a more complete perspective from different angles of the Bluetech sound, and flirts with the more danceable side of downtempo music, while remaining a fundamentally relaxed and soothing experience. It includes interpretations to Pitch Black & Shulman.
Organic Records announces the second release on the newly launched ORGANIC CHILL with its first of many debut artist albums

Perpetual Loop - Universal Flow

Release Date: 10th July 2006

As with Organic's earlier groundwork albums, Perpetual Loop can be expected to lead you on a mystifying musical journey through the psyche aboard a vehicle of some of the most chilled out world beats and magic carpets of synth atmospheres. "Universal Flow" definitely fits that bill, and immersed within this amazing album are virtual teleportation devices to other places and times, some real, yet at the same time, wholly unimagined... until now. Charles Massey's musical expertise has led to a solid album and has helped him forge his own signature style and take on downtempo chillout electronica with just this one debut album. The pianowork and strings ensembles alone make these tracks a must-listen, but combined with lovingly twisted synths and digital sounds and beats hearkening from nearly forgotten corners of the world makes it even better. "Universal Flow" is distinctly a step away from the cookie-cutter dubtronica downtempo heard so much these days... be sure to check this out while it out while it's at its freshest! Leave your preconceptions at the door and let the Flow grab hold of you!

Track Listing

1. Psyabi
2. Ilitqusia Agvigum
3. Eastern Sunbreak
4. Universal Flow
5. Inbetween Space
6. Be Happy
7. Indifferent World
8. Moment Of Clarity
9. Spirit
10. To The Voices In My Head

A bit about the artist:

Perpetual Loop is Charles Massey who is based in Manchester (UK). Classically trained on both the cello and piano, he combines the smoothness of that genre with the harder edge of electronic music, creating his own organic style, embracing computer technology to create Balearic sounds, Tribal beats and Symphonic arrangements. Charles has been writing and producing music for the last fifteen years. In 1995 he set up a night in Liverpool, England, delivering slamming sets of house to progressive to trance music, occasionally taking to the decks himself.
In 1999 he moved down to London, where he concentrated on his own organic music that is relaxing to the mind and soul as well as evolving enough to take the listener on a journey. His atmospheric music blends very well with his other love of film; creating soundscapes that compliment visual images. In 2004, having previously worked on numerous media projects and independent films, Charles had his debut release as Perpetual Loop on Rumour Records’ “Gateway To The Sun”, along-side Michael Dog, Eat Static, Ganja Beats and Chris Organic.
In November of the same year Perpetual Loop released two tracks on Organic Records’ compilation Psymeditation (ORGCD008) which became an instant hit, and has recently had two further tracks released on the follow-up to that CD, Psymeditation 2 (ORGCHILL001). He also releases material under the name of Grebeau. “Universal Flow” is Perpetual Loop’s debut album, and has been much anticipated in the world of psychedelic/ambient/chill. We hope you enjoy it.

Anoushka Shankar's surname is synonymous with perhaps the most famous name in Indian music, Ravi Shankar, her father. A student of his, Ms. Shankar has played sitar with him in concert and on record. The family includes the singer-songwriter Norah Jones, her half-sister. "Rise" (Angel Records), her fourth album on her own, was released in September and nominated for a Grammy (like her first album, in 1998). "Playing Indian classical music, as intense and deep as it is, freshens my mind and ears to get lots of variety in the music I listen to," she said. Beginning in April, Ms. Shankar will be touring, first on the West Coast with her father and then for "Rise" in North America and Europe. Speaking by phone from India, Ms. Shankar talked to Winter Miller about what she has been listening to.

David Gilmour

I really like this album; even though it's a vocal album it has so much emphasis on the instrumental part. When you hear songs, you're used to a chorus and a verse 1 and a verse 2 and a bridge, and he really breaks that up on "On an Island" (EMI). The songs all have vocals, but sometimes it takes three minutes for his voice to come in. The first song is very melodious and kind of old-fashioned, then his voice comes in and makes it fresh. His voice is funky and almost cynical; it changes the mood of the song completely. It just seems like the voice is one equal part of the whole album.

Karsh Kale

I connect to this music because it crosses into all of cultures that I exist in. On "Broken English" (Six Degrees Records), he uses many surprising clashes — Indian influences, electronica and mainstream rock — it's got lovely guitar, lovely drums. He's mainly an incredibly strong percussionist and tabla player. I'm very impressed when someone breaks the cliché of the drummer and creates such beautiful music. It doesn't exist in a box: you think it's going to be an Indian song and he throws in English on top of the Hindi lyrics. It just keeps going somewhere you don't expect it to go.

Bluetech

"Sines and Singularities" (Aleph Zero) is a great name for an electronica album, very clever. He's one of the best ambient artists that I know of. This is the second album and it's even better than the first. He creates a beautiful space you can get lost in it. It's very atmospheric and very delicate for being as intricately programmed as it is. He can really go into intricate counter-rhythms or create such textured sounds that blow around the speakers. When someone does that, it's generally very obvious; with him it's very subtle music. It's one of my favorite into-the-night albums.

As a farewell to 2005 and in inauguration of 2006 Ambient Airlines is taking
20% off all titles this Saturday: 12noon to 6pm.

324 Fell Street
btw. Gough & Octavia
in Hayes Valley District

We got another package from Ultimae including more of the limited edition
Solar Fields release, [ Extended ]. Ambient Airlines is the only shop in
the US to stock this title. The other new Solar Fields release on Ultimae,
[ Leaving Home ], to which I am currently listening, is unlike earlier Solar
Fields releases. More mellow, with pretty atmospheric melodies, occasional
unobtrusive crackly textures, and some psychedelic hooks here and there. I
find this release a marked evolution of Solar Fields' sound and a departure
from the other Ultimae titles that feature a more consistent slow-trance
thump.

Plus much more including...
Kaya Project - Elixir
Gaudi & Testa - Continuum
Pitch Black [nz] - Ape to Angel

and releases from the LEFT COAST MOS CLICK SLACK MOB:
Rena - Transmigration
Bluetech - Sines & Singularities
Nalepa - Flatlands EP
Native State Recs - Left Coast Liquid vol.1
Kraddy - Truth Has No Path

Also, the OEM Bin is still selling off titles. $3 - $5 per disc. These are
promos sent to OEM Radio that have been played once (to rip to their
internet mp3 radio station). The OEM Bin contains only discs that have
music currently playing on OEM Radio, not the crap they didn't like.

Native Instruments Reaktor Workshops.

Due to requests for instruction in this amazing modular software environment, I will be offering a two day course in Reaktor Nov, 19th and 20th in East Vancouver.

Reaktor is a completely modular sound design environment which contains samplers, synthesizers, effects, drum machines, granular devices, and many radical sound generation and processing tools.

The first day we will go over the basics of how Reaktor interface works, loading/importing, navigation, and many of the Ensembles that come with the software. We will work on integrating Reaktor with other softwares like Cubase, and Ableton Live.

Day two will be more in depth to some of the deeper functions of Reaktor like instrument structures, routing, how to manipulate pre built ensembles, and the basic blocks for building your own.

The Reaktor workshop is offered at a sliding scale between $75-100. Pre-registration is required as is a deposit for the course. Please contact me at bluetech @ bluetechonline.com for information.

Cheers,

I just got to see Bluetech live for the first time at the Portland Ambient alchemy tour...and I must say he absolutely KILLED the place! Ripped it apart.
When he came on the floor was pretty empty and I had some doubts about how people would react to the 'downtempo electronica' that was about to begin. But there was nothing to fear.
Evan stepped up and the floor went from 5 people to PACKED within a few songs. There was new material, remixes significantly different than what is on 'Elementary Particles', PHAT bass, and some meaty beaty uptempo stuff too.

It was aweome, alchemical, cutting-edge and extremely satisfying. He couldn't have ripped it any harder if his life depended on it. I hope the tour was a success. MORE LIVE BLUETECH PLEASE!

Shulman's music is filled with evolving organic layers backed by rich harmonies. With two albums already released, Shulman is busy working on several new projects at the moment. Yaniv also manages Aleph Zero ( www.aleph-zero.info ) a well-respected label, with partner Shahar Bar-Itzhak (aka DJ Shahar). Aleph Zero was created with a vision of releasing and promoting high quality downbeat electronic music, journeying through the realms of ambient, chill out, ethnic sounds and weird electronica.

BLUETECH (Aleph Zero, Native State)

In 2004 he released “Elementary Particles" on his own Native State ( www.nativestaterecords.com ), and both albums were re-released by Shulman's Aleph Zero imprint. He has quickly built an avid fan base through his unique blend of IDM, chill-out, dub, and other genres. Not content to stay in the studio, he is often found on tour through Europe, Canada, and the United States. 2005 will see the launch of Native State into a fully operational label with the introduction of a compilation in time for summer. Bluetech will be playing music from both albums, as well as over an hour of new music.

He currently runs two labels of his own Metapath Recordings ( www.metapathrecordings.com ) and Sentient Sound ( www.sentientsound.net ) . Noah continues to develop his work through integrated approaches to audio, communication, and consciousness itself.

ArcheDream are an archetypal mask theatre company, which uses ritual, movement and myth to present allegorical dramas. The inspiration for ArcheDream is derived from ancient rituals where the
Devine mingled with Humankind. Their theatre uses various forms of dance, innovative music, multimedia projections, archetypal masks and costumes that are illuminated with ultra-violet light, accentuating the supernatural aspects to reveal the dreamscape as the action unfolds. ArcheDream is founded on the quality of the individual artist participating in a collaborative effort. They will be
performing 2 scenes from their original performance "The Shamyn's Breath".

1 Giant Leap ( www.1giantleap.tv )
Featuring such incredible musicians as Baaba Maal from Senegal, Ashe Bhosle from India, Brian Eno from the UK, and visionary thinkers like Ram Dass and Kurt Vonnegut, 1 Giant Leap fuses
documentary filmmaking, innovative audio/visual piece and a global cultural project to create something unlike anything you've ever seen before. Guided by the principal of illustrating "Unity through Diversity" two music producers travel the world recording and speaking with a wide range of people and piece together the common strands that exist underneath the surface. Please join us at
